I can't describe it any more than that. I just love my boys so much.
Every so often I will look at their smiles, or feel the warmth from their little bodies when I hug them and feel overwhelmed by the gravity of our love. They look at me with singleness of heart. I know that Brian and I alone hold the keys to their little worlds. It makes my heart sing to know that I can give them, at least for a short time, a place where they are the most important and loved in the world. Where they can do their favorite things and be with their favorite people.
I'm such a lucky mom!

What a Weekend
I don't know what got into me, but we decided to have fun in the sun this weekend!
I wish I was good at planning things in advance. Then I could invite others over for fun too. But I'm not.
Friday morning Bradley was begging to go outside and I was convinced it was too hot. All I wanted to do that day was get to the post office -Sorry Kyli & Meredith your packages will be delayed yet another week. So I told him we could go out and feel how hot it was before our walk. The weather was so perfect, and finally not super windy. So we took our nice walk and put Luke down for a nap. Suddenly I felt the urge to play in the water. I got Bradley all lubed up and in swimmers and laid out all the plastic blow up water toys.
Of course as soon as I plugged in the first water toy Luke woke up. So I lubed him up too and we went and played!! With my awesome camera in hand of course.
Then the next day was the airshow. (Long story short- I promised we would go months ago but then double booked our Saturday and told Brian tough luck but had a change of heart when I realized I should be true to my first commitment and it isn't cool to shortchange your own family. And the other engagement was very sweet and understanding and didn't make me feel horrible.) So we went!

Ahh what a cute little booger. Oh i mean bugger.

"Mom that is the BOOMS!"
Propeller hugs!
Shane Wallace (who stitched the fabric section bradley is touching) holding brad up so he can feel the fabric part of the airplane. Cool! Go Shane!
Shelly trying to convince Brad to turn and smile at me. Haha. He refused.
The only good smile all day in front of Donald Duck gunning down people.
Shane holding the chalks for the airplane he helped restore before it took off for its part of the show.
Me sitting with a cranky boy and not getting to see the last and coolest part of show.
Shelly and Jeff holding Luke. Luke like loves Jeff and falls asleep in his arms. Crazy.
The highlight of the show was seeing a fleet of Brian's fave plane the P-38. It is a really cool plane and only 6 out of 10,000s are still in flying condition. We got to see 5 fly at once! This is just two of them.
The Chino airport is so cute and has a neat row of old fashioned air hangers.
It was a really fun day. We will go for sure next year!!

A day
I'm having a day.
I don't know how to describe it other than my children seem to be having a day too.
Bradley came to get me out of bed this morning, at a very reasonable time, so I said, "okay but first I need a kiss." then I needed a hug. Then I needed an eskimo kiss. We have done the eskimo kiss many times and it is usually part of saying goodnight for a nap. So when I described that you rub noses, Bradley rubbed his nose with his hand and then rubbed/wiped my nose. It counts.
Later I thought it was an excellent idea to keep playing "maze golf course" on paper with him. It is a new game we made up yesterday. Of course today we played it for the whole hour that Luke slept in, and then for another hour after that. I don't know about you, but there are only so many quick and easy mazes I can come up with in two hours.
Then I had a great compromise, we watch all of Wall-E and then take a nap vs just take a nap. Luke went down at the beginning of the movie an woke up at the end just in time for Brad's nap stories. After two well behaved children for two stories I really thought things were going well. So I went downstairs with high hopes. After ordering dirt to be delivered tomorrow, feeding Luke, and playing with the puppy... 15 min later... I hear foot steps. So I went upstairs. It smelled teriffic up there. Like really really good! What on earth did I do last time I was up here? Clean? right.
Upon gently putting Brad back in bed - in our now third pair of clothes today. any tiny bit of pee or moisture of any kind that can count as pee is cause for a wardrobe change- I pick up his "dirty" clothes and find a cap. Hmm. What could the cap go to? I open the drawer and find the lotion in tact. But further investigation revealed yet a second secret lotion bottle stashed in the bathroom. The nice lotion. The Burt's Bees one that I hardly ever use because for some reason I'm "saving" it. (for what I really don't know. but I never use it as it is super awesome.) Nice mommy goes away. Bye bye nice mommy. Wish you would come back. Mean mommy rips the covers up to reveal a very "nice" smelling Bradley.
I know you are thinking why was there even lotion in his room?? No good explanation other than it has been there, untouched, for the last six months so I wasn't that worried.
Luke on the other hand is having a day that is a pretty good day. Two naps over an hour each. Really I can't ask for more from that kid. He even is starting to do the "all done" sign. His five little teeth are adorable and slowly coming in, and he doesn't even bite me- much. And you can't be mad when he gives you his epic pouty face- which is nearly perfected at this point.
Ah. I hear Bradley again.
Lord save mean mommy for a real disaster and help me to just not care today. It is just a nap right?

Luke? Brad?
I decided to fish out some 6 mo Brad pics to see really how similar my boys look...
Can you tell the difference?
A
B
C
D
E
F
G
H
I
J
Soooooo yea. Just a little similar.
Let's see how you did:
A Luke
B Brad
C Luke
D Brad
E Brad
F Luke
G Brad
H Luke
I Luke
J Brad
You want a hint to crack to baby code? Luke smiles and Brad doesn't. Well there is one pic where Brad is smirking. I had to really search to find non smiley pics of Luke to trick you up. The other obvious difference is Luke's fluffy hair.
Even I kept writing D down wrong. I will never again laugh at my Mother in law for confusing her sons in their baby pictures.

6 mo Photo Time!
Today was a good day. I love when I feel like I've had a successful day. That feeling always what always preceeds that feeling is a day actually full of activities not just "relaxing." Today we played with tv off till noon. Had a lunch, then went shopping till 3. And during shopping we had a rockin Goodwill stop and a successful Walmart grocerice plus fact finding trip. Then good nap for Brad and Brian made dinner. Followed by a night of xbox Zumba! I'm sure it was just ending the night on an endorphin kick that made me think today was such a great day. But I'm sorry, watching Brian totally uninhibited Zumba and shimmy around will put a smile on anyone's face!
Okay onto what you want to see. The pics!
I had nothing to do really when I was a mom of 1. So I took lots of pics. I promised myself that I would have just as many pics of Luke. Well I haven't quite made it. I love lots of pics, not so many "photo shoots" though. But 6 months is so big! I can't miss it!! At least I will have newborn pics and 6 month pics.
First we started with our first sink bath! He loved it. Brad thought it was one of the crazier things his mom has done recently.
Just a few nakie baby pics. Who doesn't love chunky baby love!
Then naked time was over and well, Luke LOVES naked time. So he had to let me know how he felt about wearing clothes AGAIN! Mom!
But that was short lived. Seriously all you have to do is say "LUUUUuuuuuke!" and he will bust out an adorable smile.
Then Bradley finished his bath and wanted to take pics too. This was our first, and best pic.
Bradley has learned that kissing is cute. He doesn't understand he is the only one who likes kissing.. ask the Schrocks. ... Poor Dana.
Luke feels about the same way as Dana the first time Brad laid one on her!
This may be my favorite pic EVER of my boys.
For some reason Luke was suddenly done taking pics and Bradley wanted to take some too.
This is the only pose Brad wanted to do. No amount of asking to sit or lay down worked. He sat like this for a whole minuted saying "take my picture mommy!" I don't really know how to interpret that.
After a nap and after big brother went down for his nap and Luke had mommy time, we did a few more pics. He was SO happy!
Where did 6 months go! I swear I've only had him for 2 months. I love my Lukey Loo.
