Monkey See Monkey Do

So my mom has her own successful website, her own creative blog and is part of this awesome network, Make Mine Pink, where she gets to meet and network with other online crafters and sellers. Her life long years of crafting, bazzars, and business expertiese have led her to online sales oddly enough.

I too, am a life long crafter, but I completely lack the bazzar or business skills she has developed. So I thought I'd ride her coat tails and steal a few of her ideas... so far it is working well!

Instead of selling on my own website, I sell handmade felt items on Etsy. Then I joined one of the "Etsy Groups" for Georgia which has blossomed into their own little network community. Now I get to write for their blog occassionally, and have designed their web banner! We'll see if this little business equation works for me as well as it works for my mom.

In the mean time, check out my first tutorial!!

Pics of the homestead.

Pretty much ever since christmas my grandparents, on all sides, have been requesting pics of the new house. I hope that the children of said grandparents will share this post with them.

This will link to my online album:

Would You Like Some Dinners?

Clearly, I have the cutest, and smartest dog in the world.

We had to teach her to "circle" when we asked if she wanted some breakfast, lunch or dinners.. When she was a little pup she would tackle the asker. It wasn't that big of a deal if you were standing up, she could only reach your knees or thy. But if you were sitting on the floor she would go right for your face and neck. Which is cute when it happens to someone other than yourself. But still band manners.

After we practiced doing circles for a while she started adding in a little "wuff" for emphasis. Now she will answer in the affirmative with a wuff or a little growl- which sounds more like a guinea pig rather than a vicious dog- for a few questions like Do you need to go out? Do you want play frisbee? Do you want to go on a hike?

btw- i guess she isn't thaaaat smart, because every time i play the video she thinks she is getting some dinners.

Patience Brewster!

The Atlanta Gift Market, America's Mart, is in gear this week so my parents are visiting so they can get their business buying done for the year. They go nearly every year, it is now convienient that I live here so they don't have to stay in a hotel. Anyways, they took me! It is so much fun, and one of my fave artists was there signing her cards... Patience Brewster! You have all seen her stuff, she does very whimsical art that has been translated into a whole line of cards and funky figurines. http://www.patiencebrewster.com/index.html

She is very nice, and her hand writing is amazing.

We got it!

Yes! We closed on the house and are now moved in!
It just took me a while to post since we moved in and then we flew to oregon the next day. But now we are back and ready to paint, fix, install, and generally make it our own.
